The fort is open all year round. You can visit the 1001 Bombs & Grenades exhibition during the castle opening hours. Our tavern is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March – October. From November – February the tavern is open during the weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

National Holidays

Loevestein Castle is open on Easter Sunday & Easter Monday, Liberation Day, Ascension Day, and Whit Sunday & Whit Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The castle is closed on Good Friday, but the Tavern will remain open.

The entire fort is closed on King’s Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day.

  • The Tavern is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March – October. From November – February the tavern is open during the weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except on King’s Day (April 27th), Christmas Day, New Year’s Day).
  • Guided tours are only available on request. We can even arrange a guided tour outside our regular opening hours.
  • During events, other opening hours and/or admission prices may apply.
  • You’re permitted to take photos or fil for personal use as long as this doesn’t cause any nuisance for other visitors. Our guides are always on hand to answer any questions you may have.
