Oorlogsrecht in tijden van machtspolitiek<\/h2>\n

Op woensdagavond 20 mei organiseert de Stichting Vrienden van Slot Loevestein een bijzondere avond op het slot. Spreker is Afshin Ellian, hoogleraar rechtsfilosofie aan de Universiteit Leiden.<\/p>\n

Ellian vluchtte als jongeman uit Iran en weet als geen ander wat er op het spel staat wanneer vrijheid en rechtsstaat onder druk staan. Als columnist voor De Telegraaf<\/em> en EW Magazine<\/em>, en als publiek intellectueel en wetenschapper, duidt hij met scherpte en gezag de grote vraagstukken van deze tijd.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”112117″ media_width_percent=”100″ uncode_shortcode_id=”201454″][vc_column_text text_lead=”yes” uncode_shortcode_id=”142169″]Dat hij spreekt op Loevestein is geen toeval. Het kasteel is de plek waar Hugo de Groot in de zeventiende eeuw gevangen zat en zijn baanbrekende werk over het internationaal recht schreef. Op dit moment is op het slot de tentoonstelling Oorlogsrecht | Grenzen aan Geweld<\/em> <\/a>te zien.
