Regal Rest & Relaxation

Spending a night at Loevestein Castle is truly an unforgettable experience. Within the walls of the stronghold is the former commander’s quarters, which have now been restored to their former glory.

You are invited to spend a comfortable night or a luxurious weekend in these first-class quarters – Suite & Breakfast. Furthermore we have a Soldier’s Cottage where you can stay overnight. This authentic cotttage used to be a home for several soldiers and their families. Wouldn’t it be nice to stop on your cycling tour and spend the night without pitching your tent?

You’ll be struck by Loevestein’s history and ambiance the moment you step through its gates. Stroll down its garrison’s streets, wander around its magnificent chestnut tree and take in its views. At night, the castle gates close and it becomes so quiet you can almost reach out and touch the silence.

Host Tim Schrijver and hostess Renate Vos welcome you in the stronghold. When you wake up after a good night’s rest, there will be a organic breakfast with local products ready for you. Specific requirements can be discussed with the host(ess).

Within the walls of the stronghold is the former commander’s quarters, which have now been restored to their former glory with three different rooms: Officer’s quarters, Commander’s quarters and Customs Officer’s quarters.
The Officer’s quarters is a luxury suite with a bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet. From this room you have a view of the castle and the Waal river. The Commander’s quarters is a similar room with a view of the castle. The Customs Officer’s quarters has a shower in the room and a shared toilet on the hallway.
You can also spend the night at the soldier’s cottage. An authentic small house where two families used to live. However, now it’s suitable for a stay for two persons. The cottage has two floors with a toilet on the ground floor and the shower and bedroom are on the first floor. From this lovely cottage you have a wonderful view of the castle. There is free WiFi and you can make use of the coffee/tea facilities.
