A cool fortress, a strong mediaeval castle, and fantastic scenery all around:  children will have a ball in and around Loevestein Castle!

There is so much to do. Inside the castle you can listen to short stories, dress up as knights or princesses and do the guided children's tour, or discover the Middle Ages with the 'Reiscoffer' (traveller's chest) tour.  Of course, you can simply visit the castle; but there you can also listen to the mediaeval residents' stories via touchscreens.

There's no getting bored outside the castle either. You can do the 'Treasure hunt for traces of the past', which takes you all over the fortress grounds. Really adventurous kids can do an exciting SatNav 'Geuzentocht' (beggars' tour) around the castle grounds or explore the countryside by doing the Expeditie Loevestein (Loevestein expedition).
